* 1) New customers should contact PepMetric first for quotes;
* 2) Pepmetric will contact and send you quotes within 48 hours for your review;
* 3) Customers arrange 30% advance payment and PepMetric confirms your order and approximate delivery date by email;
* 4) Peptide or peptide array is then custom made and delivered as soon as the rest 70% payment is received.

How do I make payment?
* Remember we ship your order once your payment is received.
* We accept following payment methods
1) Credit Cards: Major credit cards (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, etc) are accepted. For certain credit cards, you might be asked for security number. If you prefer this method, please click here to download the Credit Card Authorization and Consent Form, fill in and send the form back to quote@pepmetric.com.

What is the recommended peptide length?
Coupling efficiency in FMOC solid phase spot synthesis can be as high as 98%; to maintain high integrity, fidelity and purity of peptides on membrane, the peptide length should be no longer than 16 amino acids though our have successful experience of synthesizing 20-mer peptides on arrays.

How much peptide is synthesized per spot?
Depending on array density, a typical spot of 5mm diameter will have >50nmol peptides (50~150ug in mass, depending on molecular weight of peptides) by theoretical calculation and assuming a coupling efficiency of >98% per cycle.

How does PepMetric QC the synthesis of SPOTs peptides in the custom SPOTs service?
Several internal controls (positive and negative controls) are synthesized on arrays to ensure the quality of peptide arrays.

What is the storage conditions for the membrane?
Peptide array membrance is stable for 1 week at room temperature, at least 1 months when stored at -20 degree, and at least 8 months at -80 degree.

Can the peptide array can be regenerated?
Due to its strong bonding nature of peptides with cellulose membrance, the membrane might be regenerated up to several times (not for protease and kinase arrays). However, regenerated membrane must be pre-tested first by your detection method in the absence of probe (such as target protein) before re-use to ensure membrane stripping is complete.

What are detection methods?
In general, many detection methods can be employed to detect peptide arrays, including fluoroscence, autoradiography, chemilluminescence, and chromogenesis as long as your antibody (or target protein) can be conjugated with corresponding fluorochrome, radioisotope, or HRP/AP. If you want to reuse membrane, chromogenetic substrates are not recommended.

What does the peptide array membrance look like?
The peptides are synthesized in a grid on cellulose membrane and four corners are marked by pencil, and the first peptide will be clearly marked for membrane orientation. Also, coming with membrane is a CD in which a grid diagram with detailed sequences for each spot as well as instructions will be included.
